Decisions, routines, and safety
What are the LipSense ingredients?
LipSense ingredients depend on the shade and Gloss finish. For an exact comparison, here are the complete current labels for Chai Color and Glossy Moisturizing Gloss—and what each formula brings to your lips.
What is in Chai LipSense Color?
Current Chai declaration: Alcohol Denat., PPG-20 Methyl Glucose Ether, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer, Isostearyl Alcohol, Silica, Parfum/Fragrance, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Potassium Aluminum Silicate, Galactoarabinan, Citronellol, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Benzoic Acid, Benzyl Benzoate, Isodonis Japonicus Leaf/Stalk Extract, Limonene, Hypericum Perforatum (St. John's Wort) Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa (Tree Peony) Root Extract, Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower Extract, Aqua/Water/Eau, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850). See both selected declarations and their exact variant scope.
- For the thin, fast-drying application: Alcohol Denat. is the carrier the current Color page says stabilizes the formula for layering. PPG-20 Methyl Glucose Ether, Isostearyl Alcohol, Silica, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Potassium Aluminum Silicate, Galactoarabinan, fragrance components, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Benzoic Acid, and water complete the supporting formula around the carrier, long-wear film, pigments, and botanicals.
- For the flexible film: Chai lists Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer as one part of the formula; that single named copolymer is not the entire proprietary matrix. LipSense Long-Lasting Liquid Lip Color uses the Permeable Polymer Matrix — a breathable color film that lets compatible Moisturizing Gloss conditioners pass through to the lips beneath, so long-wear color also conditions through the day.
- For Chai's shade: The listed iron oxides, titanium dioxide, and lake dye make this declaration shade-specific. Chai does not list mica.
- For botanical care: Isodonis Japonicus Leaf/Stalk Extract, Hypericum Perforatum (St. John's Wort) Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa (Tree Peony) Root Extract, and Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower Extract provide the current Color page's soothing, antioxidant, comfort, and moisture support.
The unparameterized Color page currently opens on Amber Spice. Select Chai to see this declaration. Another shade can vary beyond the pigments, so read the selected shade's current ingredient list whenever a sensitivity or preference makes a name important. Shop LipSense Long-Lasting Liquid Lip Color.
What is in Glossy Moisturizing Gloss?
Current Glossy declaration: Dimethicone, Water/Aqua/Eau, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Trimethylsiloxyamodimethicone, C11-15 Pareth-7, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, C12-16 Pareth-9, Glycerin, Trideceth-12, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol. See both selected declarations and their exact variant scope.
Glossy puts Shea Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, and Glycerin inside a smooth conditioning base. Glycerin attracts water; Shea Butter and the vitamin E ingredients support a soft, conditioned feel. The unparameterized Gloss page currently opens on Afterglow, which has a different declaration. Select Glossy when you want to check the ingredients above. Shop LipSense Moisturizing Gloss.
How do Color, Gloss, and removal fit together?
The LipSense system uses Liquid Lip Color, compatible Moisturizing Gloss, and Ooops! Remover. See the Color-and-Gloss system architecture. Color makes the long-wear film, compatible Gloss supplies the required conditioning seal and can be refreshed through the day, and Ooops!™ Lip Color Remover handles correction and removal. LipSense Moisturizing Gloss is the required conditioning seal after the third Color layer sets. To correct or remove Color, dip the wand, gently work the applicator over the color, and wipe clean with tissue. Shop Ooops! Lip Color Remover.
At the company level, SeneGence is cruelty-free and never tests on animals. All topical products are vegan-friendly, and everything is formulated without gluten-containing ingredients. Read the formulation standard and sources. Your actual choice still comes down to the exact shade-and-finish labels above. If the ingredients fit and you want the original long-wear system, choose one current Color shade, one compatible Moisturizing Gloss finish, and Ooops! for correction or removal. The complete LipSense lesson shows how Color, Gloss, and removal work together; the application sequence gives you the clean-lip, thin-layer, flash-off, and Gloss order; and the step-by-step application answer walks you through clean, dry lips, one-direction thin layers, dry-down, and Gloss.
