How Does LipSense Work?

Original LipSense wears like a flexible second skin: thin color bonds to the lip surface instead of sliding around on top.

Original LipSense Long-Lasting Liquid Lip Color is built in thin passes. Cosmetic alcohol carries the pigment, flashes away as each pass dries, and leaves a flexible color film on the lip surface. The result is color designed to resist transfer while Moisturizing Gloss keeps the finished system comfortable.

The hero technology is the Permeable Polymer Matrix. As SD Alcohol 40-B evaporates, polymer and pigment settle into a flexible grid on the lip surface. The openings in that grid let conditioning ingredients from the shea-butter gloss move through while the larger pigment particles remain held in the color film. That is the mechanism: evaporation builds the film; permeability lets the care step keep working through it.

The Original LipSense system pairs Original LipSense Liquid Lip Color, LipSense Moisturizing Gloss, and Ooops! Remover. Color creates the long-wear film. Gloss seals away tack and delivers the conditioning layer. Remover softens the bond so color lifts without aggressive rubbing.

Wear moves within a range because lip condition, surface prep, layer thickness, dry time, food, drink, and oils all change the challenge placed on the film. Coach the technique first. A Gloss refresh preserves comfort without replacing the color underneath.

End the day as cleanly as you started it: soften the color, let it release, then wipe gently.

Long-wear polymers are designed to resist water and routine contact, so water alone is a poor removal tool.
