What does Rhodiola do in SeneGence Detoxifying Oxygen Facial Mask?
SeneGence Detoxifying Oxygen Facial Mask uses Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract to support skin’s natural defenses against harsh environmental factors and help the complexion look more even and radiant. Kaolin and plant-derived fruit acids clear away surface buildup, while dragon fruit brings antioxidant and moisture support.

What makes this cold-climate plant worth following?
Rhodiola rosea is a succulent perennial native across subarctic and subalpine parts of the Northern Hemisphere. In those cold places, this is a plant with a story of endurance. Its root extract brings care for skin’s natural defenses and a more even, radiant-looking complexion to this mask. Meet the plant through Kew’s Plants of the World Online.
That interest in resilience has a natural place in SeneGence’s story. Joni Rogers-Kante travelled to Vanuatu with scientists and botanists to explore life thriving in extremes; the orchid legend inspired the research behind SenePlex+®. Here, the same curiosity gives you a reason to look past the bubbles and into the blend. Read the Vanuatu orchid story.
The mask brings that story home through SenePlex+® as well: its current formula contains Calanthe Discolor (Ebine) Extract together with Laminaria Digitata (Kelp) Extract and Saccharomyces Cerevisiae (Yeast) Extract. See what SenePlex+® brings to the formula.
Why does the mask bubble?
The gel turns into foam bubbles that fizzle and activate for 3 to 5 minutes. Let them develop: the oxygenating bubbles will be fully activated before you massage with wet fingertips and rinse. It is a facial-in-a-flash for a more purified, clarified complexion, with instant hydration for a plump, dewy glow.
Kaolin and the plant-derived fruit acids gently remove dead cells from the top layer, uncovering luminosity and revitalizing the appearance of dull, tired skin.
How do the ingredients work together for a fresher look?
Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract supports skin’s natural defenses against harsh environmental factors and helps the complexion look more even and radiant.
Kaolin is the finely textured white clay that helps draw out surface impurities and dirt, absorb excess oil and remove dead skin cells.
Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract and Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract form the plant-derived fruit-acid blend for exfoliating dead surface cells.
Hylocereus Undatus Fruit Extract, dragon fruit, brings antioxidants and vitamin C support to help improve moisture content.
Hydrolyzed Opuntia Ficus-Indica (Prickly Pear) Flower Extract supports gentle surface exfoliation and helps retain hydration for a smoother, more radiant-looking complexion.
Saccharide Isomerate helps hold moisture in the skin, adding lasting hydration to the formula.
Paeonia Lactiflora Root Extract, peony root, joins the blend’s care for a refreshed, younger-looking complexion.
Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract and Tocopherol work together as the antioxidant blend, helping protect against the visible signs of aging.
Calanthe Discolor (Ebine) Extract brings the orchid’s conditioning care alongside Laminaria Digitata (Kelp) Extract and Saccharomyces Cerevisiae (Yeast) Extract, the yeast-and-kelp pairing in SenePlex+® for gentle-looking surface renewal. Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol and Glucosamine HCl join the hydration side of the formula.
Orchis Mascula (Orchid) Flower Extract is a second orchid ingredient, with a soothing cosmetic function. Meet the orchid-blossom extract.
How do I use the mask?
Give yourself time to enjoy the fizz. Once or twice a week in the evening, begin with clean, dry skin and let the foam develop before you rinse. Here is how to make the most of the mask:
Apply to clean, dry skin. As you apply a generous even layer over the face, avoid the eye area.
You will visibly see the gel-to-foam mask transform into foam bubbles on to the surface of the skin.
Allow the bubbles to fizzle and activate on the skin for 3 to 5 minutes.
After those minutes have passed, the oxygenating bubbles will be fully activated.
Wet your fingertips and massage the bubbles into the skin using a circular motion. This will maximize the exfoliating benefits.
Rinse well with neutral warm water or a damp washcloth. After rinsing it off, you will proceed with the remaining steps of your skincare regimen.
What should I use after rinsing?
After rinsing, begin with Climate Control, the water-light preparation layer, or SeneSerum-C Hydrating C-Pearls® Serum, then continue with your chosen treatment and the moisturizer for that daypart. See the order in the SeneGence skincare guide.
For eye-area treatment, NeoTight™ Eye Serum is a lightweight morning-and-evening option for firmer, brighter, smoother-looking skin. Keep the mask away from the eye area, then follow NeoTight’s own directions if that is the treatment you choose.
For fuller-looking contours, the product’s suggested pairing is GLP Complex™ with SenePlex+® and Exosomes, with Ornithine HCl, Phospholipids and Glycolipids contributing to that contour care. Explore the GLP Complex formula.

What did the finished-mask studies find?
The SeneGence Detoxifying Oxygen Facial Mask study page reports a four-week clinical study of 33 female participants, with expert observation and Corneometer® and D-Squame® analysis compared with baseline. The mask increased skin hydration immediately, with hydration lasting up to 72 hours; average skin hydration improved by 35% after 72 hours.
In that four-week clinical study of 33 female participants, 97% had improved exfoliation to remove dead skin cells after four weeks, and the average improvement was 38% compared with baseline.
In the reported four-week independent consumer study of 33 female participants, 97% agreed immediately that skin looked rested and fresh, and 91% agreed immediately that skin looked brighter. After two weeks, 94% agreed that the product purified their complexion, restored luminosity and gave skin a healthy-looking glow; 91% agreed that it gently polished away dry, flaky skin. Each percentage is the share of participants agreeing with that statement.
Those are findings for Detoxifying Oxygen Facial Mask. The current SeneGence product page brings its benefits, ingredient declaration and application together; Kew’s plant record follows Rhodiola’s botanical identity and native range.

Do I use it on wet or dry skin?
Apply Detoxifying Oxygen Facial Mask to clean, dry skin. Wet your fingertips after the bubbles have worked for 3 to 5 minutes, massage in a circular motion, then rinse well.
Do the bubbles replace the exfoliating ingredients?
The gel-to-foam texture is part of the experience; Kaolin and the plant-derived fruit-acid blend do the surface-cleansing and exfoliating work described by SeneGence.
Was the Rhodiola in this mask found on Joni’s Vanuatu expedition?
The Vanuatu story follows Joni’s search for life thriving in extremes and the orchid legend behind SenePlex+®. Rhodiola’s own botanical story follows its native range across the subarctic and subalpine Northern Hemisphere.
Can I put it around my eyes?
Avoid the eye area when applying Detoxifying Oxygen Facial Mask. Choose a dedicated eye-area product, such as NeoTight™ Eye Serum, for that part of your routine.
How often should I use Detoxifying Oxygen Facial Mask?
Use it once or twice a week in the evening, as a refreshing reset for dull or congested-looking skin.
